About Travelogue

I Felt encouraged by the various Domestic and International travels with family members and I have also included the travelogues as extension to my blogs. During my trip to Jersey City from Jun 2014 to Oct 2014, I had the opportunity of recording and enjoying the construction activities of Marbella 2. I am recording my astonishment and pleasure in observing the construction.
I shall appreciate any kind of encouragement and feedback for improvements in this direction.  Wishing you all the best.

Team Work and co-ordination

Team Work

The Team Work and Time Management were very effectively implemented during the construction in many related activities. An interesting aspect of transporting heavy steel reinforcement structure within the site has been captured and recorded for the benefit of the viewers. I do hope you enjoy this remarkable event and appreciate the efforts by the site staff to bring out the best in them.
The first part concludes here and I do hope that the captured sequences over the period of 5 months of construction activity, answers the basic question as to how such buildings are maintained over centuries with the flexibility of retro fitting over the period of time.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas

Service Lift

Service Lift

As the construction was going through the critical stage, it was necessary for the installation of the service lift to help the workers to reach the active floors in addition to carrying heavy items that are to be handled with extreme care and  balance. Like the Federated Crane, the Service Lift was also elevated periodically taking side supports from the recently cast floor. The team work and the time management is to be appreciated in provide the logistics in time.

Goose Neck Crane

Goose Neck Crane

During the initial stages of construction, heavy simultaneous and multiple tasks were to be performed. For low heights, the Goose Neck Crane had been very useful in terms of zoom and reachability. It was a pleasure to observe both the Federated Crane and the Goose Neck Crane working in tandem to complete the day’s target.

Equipment Encapsulation - rare recordings

Equipment Encapsulation

Sometimes it becomes necessary to encapsulate certain equipment inside the building, which cannot be done after erecting the surrounding walls. It was  very interesting to record the rare moments during the encapsulation, which lasted for around 5 hours from beginning to end. I have decided to stay in the balcony with the camera mounted on a tripod to record the movements, which I will always relish. I do hope, you will also enjoy the rare sequence.

Swimming Pool Exit Ceiling

Work on Swimming Pool Exit Ceiling

The planning and execution of removing the ceiling in stages was a treat to watch, as the staff were confronted with multiple problems before succeeding to remove the slab in four segments. I do hope you will be enjoying these steps as they unfold.

Elevating the Federated Crane

Elevating the Federated Crane

The Federated Crane is designed to accept increments in height as the construction of floors goes upwards for enabling optimum reach and zoom for material handling. The addition of steel structures and securing the crane’s stability is an essential process which is well carried out by experienced staff. The hydraulic piston movements for rising the structure to hold the increment module is worth noting. I have spent considerable time in observing and enjoying the process of elevating the structure by the team from the balcony and the road side. The passers along the road used to observe the process with astonishment and curiosity. I have tried to annotate the process in images to understand the process with clarity.  Most of the occasions I have observed the Federated Crane being elevated on Saturdays as the crane would be otherwise very busy during working days from Mondays to Fridays.
